Insurer advises regular boiler maintenance

2010-09-16 16:38:33

Insurance firm Churchill has advised people to get their boiler regularly serviced to reduce their energy bills and to avoid problems.

The insurance firm says that failing to regularly maintain a boiler can lead to breakdowns and unnecessary expense. A survey carried out by the firm found that 42 per cent of boiler owners do not get their system regularly serviced.

Churchill’s home insurance chief, Martin Scott, explained that it’s important to sign up to a boiler maintenance scheme before the cold weather kicks in. "It is easy to ignore your boiler and central heating in the summer months, but you should make sure they are in good working order.

Don't wait until the weather turns cold before having the boiler serviced," he said.

A boiler maintenance scheme such as the one offered by Team Energy provides oil boiler owners with the peace of mind that comes with knowing an OFTEC registered engineer is only a phone call away. It’s also worth signing up to a planned delivery service at your local Emo Oil or CPL Petroleum depot to ensure you don’t run low on oil when the weather gets cold.
